It’s excellent news, you unruly little devils: Season two of Good Omens is moving ahead at breakneck speed, meaning Aziraphale and Crowley did not spend an eternity sipping champagne at the Ritz but have instead been occupied with far more critical issues. Gaiman said that the third novel, 668: The Neighbour of the Beast, was never completed and that some elements from it were utilized in the first season of Mr. Mercedes.

“There are a lot of images, for example, expanding into heaven and hell,” he stated. “Gabriel is not in the book, but he and the other angels, as well as a number of the other demons, originated from our discussions about what we would do in a second book.

Clearly, Gaiman has had many more ideas since then, and he did mention that we may “absolutely go back and do a lot more” if fans enjoy it enough and if the time and will are available.
