The Way of the Househusband, or Houshusuru in Japanese, is a manga series written and illustrated by Takanashi Mitsuba.

The story takes place in Japan where Satoshi Shimura; suddenly becomes a house husband when his wife, Mika returns to work after being laid off; from her job due to downsizing. He struggles; to take care of their daughter Chi; while trying not to lose himself as he also tries to keep up with household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry without any prior experience; for these things at all since before this happened; he had been working long hours; away from home while his wife; was at home taking care of their daughter.

The story is based on the author Masako Gotō’s real-life experiences when she became a housewife after quitting her job to take care of her son and two daughters.
