Hellraiser is coming back! Hellraiser, the franchise that has delighted and terrified audiences for decades with its darkly erotic and uncompromisingly brutal vision of Hell on Earth, will return to the screen in a brand-new remake helmed by horror masterminds Clive Barker and Christopher Young. The Hellraiser reboot premieres exclusively on Hulu in 2022.

Hellraiser is a remake of the 1987 horror film Hellraiser, based on Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart. This version will be more loyal to the original novel by Clive Barker.

This book describes Pinhead as having been an ordinary man who was transformed into a being with long nails and chains after he made a pact with Lucifer during wartime. In this story, Pinhead kills Frank Cotton for cheating on cards because he needed human blood.

“Hellraiser Reboot” Renewal Updates and Release Date Speculations

With the Hellraiser Reboot getting a lot of buzzes recently, it’s hard not to get too excited about this news. Initially slated for an October 2021 release, there are now rumors that “Hellraiser” may have switched gears. And will be released exclusively on Hulu instead. Regardless of whether or not it ends up being produced by Dimension Films (now part of NBC Universal), Clive Barker has created another masterpiece with HellRaisers, so we’re eager to see what he does next!

The Hellraiser reboot is currently in pre-production underwriter/director Gary J Tunnicliffe who also worked as make-up fx designer on all the HellRaiser films since number two. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

“Hellraiser Reboot” Storyline and Potential Plot Details

The movie Hellraiser focuses on a puzzle box that acts as an entrance for Pinhead and his fellow demons called “The Cenobites”. HellRaiser draws inspiration from several sources, including Dante’s Inferno.

Plot details remain under wraps, but it is known that Clive Barker (also a make-up fx designer) has written/directed this movie with Ben Collins reprising his role as Pinhead. It was also recently announced that Paul T Taylor would play an unknown character in HellRaisers – perhaps taking over the cenobite mantle from Chatterer Cenobite? Stay tuned!

The Hellraiser Reboot will also see Doug Bradley return as Pinhead, with many fans hoping that this reboot does not mean the end for HellRaiser. The Hellraiser storyline is so vast, and there are still plenty of cenobites left to bring into the mix! As always, we can only wait and watch.
