What Do We Know About Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries Season 3”?

unsolved mysteries season 3

In the 1980s and 1990s, Unsolved Mysteries became a worldwide phenomenon, and now we have a new Netflix series that has resurrected the intrigue. The first two seasons of Unsolved Mysteries, which aired from 1987 to 1997 on CBS, included supernatural tales and cold cases. The series is produced by Terry Dunn Meurer, Josh Barry, and Shawn Levy. Here are some of the latest updates we’ve discovered:

Release Updates and More:

The series has been renewed for a third season on the streaming service, set to premiere in the summer of 2022, according to an exclusive from Deadline. But it’s not simply about mysteries in this new series; the third season will reflect that shift in tone from the original run of the program.

We’ve already seen cases involving more out-there cases, from a peculiar murder in Oslo to possible UFO sightings, and Deadline claims that the third season won’t be too different in tone.

The pleasure of this program is derived not from mysteries we like to hear about but rather the renewed passion for some of these situations and individuals who are still seeking answers.

Over 5,000 tips have been filed in the last few years since the first season aired, and the FBI is now reopening cases like Alonzo Brooks’ death, according to Deadline.

Dunn Meurer, the series’ producer, offered the following statement about it: “The Unsolved Mysteries production team at Cosgrove/Meurer Productions couldn’t be more pleased with the opportunity to produce volume 3 of our successful Netflix series.”

“We’re currently working on even more amazing mysteries, and we can’t wait for our viewers to help us solve the next cases this summer. Thank you so much to all of our Unsolved Mysteries fans for making it such a success.”

“We’re thrilled and privileged to be filming volume three of Unsolved Mysteries,” said Levy and Barry. “The tremendous success of our previous two volumes on Netflix demonstrated that there is a long-term and passionate connection with this classic property, and we can’t wait to delve into more of the stories that Unsolved Mysteries so effectively tells.”

“My goal for the last R22 Laps will be to do something similar. I’ve had a lifelong dream of being able to tell more emotional humanist stories, and now that Cosgrove/Meurer who created the original series has volunteered his time again, it’s a reality.”
