Neill Blomkamp has confirmed that his plans for the sequel to “Alien” have been scrapped by 20th Century Fox. Neill, who directed and co-wrote the first film in the prequel series, had planned on making a second installment before Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. He revealed this news at an event; he said: “They kind of asked me to do it, and I wasn’t interested, but then they came back with like five other projects. So I was like, ‘alright fine.’”

About the Movie “Alien 5”

The plot of the movie? How much money has Neill made off of his earlier films so far this year, as compared with how much he’d probably have been able to make if Disney hadn’t bought 20th Century Fox and canceled all of their plans for future franchise installments that weren’t tied into existing intellectual properties already owned by Marvel Comics or Disney itself.

“Alien 5” Release Date Predictions

As per the director, it seems that after extensive talks with Sigourney Weaver, his movie will never be released. Once this news was out in the open, there were rumors of the Prometheus sequel, which would bring about its release. However, as said by Neill himself – The alien saga has taken a backseat and might not come up for some time now.

Sigourney’s role in Prometheus proved to be very crucial, according to Neill, who felt that her character deserved respect; hence he dropped the idea of including Ripley again into an active battle against aliens on earth or any other planet altogether!

Since there are no plans for making another film following Ridley Scott’s prequel, Neill Blomkamp’s work on Alien – Xeno has been completely scrapped.

Neill was looking forward to the second part of his “Alien” saga, from a script that he had written by himself and even went ahead; with casting some big names, such as Sigourney Weaver herself! However, this movie never saw the light of day because it seemed that Fox wasn’t interested in making another film, or at least not anytime soon again, since Prometheus did bad business but good enough for them to reconsider; going through with Neill’s project.

Howsoever, the point being we do not have a release date for the movie.

“Alien 5” Potential Plot Details and Storyline

Neill Blomkamp said he had written a script for “Alien,” and Neill stated that the story is set after the events of James Cameron’s classic sequel, Aliens.

It would have been great to see Neill working on this project, but it seems like Fox wasn’t interested in making another movie in this franchise just yet, or at least not anytime soon since “Prometheus” did bad business numbers.

What we do know about Neill’s idea was that Sigourney Weaver would come back as Ripley, and Michael Biehn (who played Hicks in ‘Aliens’) might reprise his role, which means we could meet Newt again! However, where does Neill want to take us with his storyline?
