We’re excited to announce that another crime thriller movie will become available on Netflix soon! Antoine Fuqua directed and produced The Guilty, which was adapted by Nic Pizzolatto. It’s a remake of the 2018 Danish film with the same name. The original was well-received by critics and fans, currently holding a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The remake should be just as good, based on the source material.

Although Netflix will release The Guilty later this year, very little is known about it. However, the facts we do know are enough to pique your interest in seeing this film.

According to the Netflix What’s New blog, The Guilty will be available to watch on Netflix on Friday, October 1, 2021. On Sept. 24, 2021, the film will have a limited theatrical release before being released on Netflix on October 1. The crime drama will also have some rivalry from Diana: The Musical, which is set to be published on Netflix on October 1.

On October 1, at 12:01 a.m. PT and 3:01 a.m. ET, the Jake Gyllenhaal-led film, should be added to Netflix. There is currently no trailer available for The Guilty, but we’ll be the first to report it when one is released!

The Guilty Plot Synopsis and Production Details:

On a terrible day of revelations and reckonings, a disgraced police detective is reassigned to 911 operator duty and fights to save a terrified caller.

Jake Gyllenhaal has acquired rights to the 2018 Danish thriller film The Guilty and will star in and produce a remake under his Nine Stories Productions banner, alongside Bold Films.

It was announced in September 2020 that Antoine Fuqua would direct and produce the film, written by Nic Pizzolatto. In November 2020, Netflix acquired worldwide rights to the film for $30 million. The production began in Los Angeles in November 2020.
