The spinoff show takes place during an earlier time period than its predecessor; therefore, there are some differences between the two shows, such as new characters, new locations, and different time periods. Colman said: “It’s just a whole other world.”

Colman also revealed that the spinoff show would focus on Victor Strand’s backstory. And that it might even be set in Mexico. It has not been confirmed whether or not Domingo; would appear in the series as his character is still alive at this point; however, Colman thinks there may be some flashbacks involving him which could explain why he was using an alias during Season One of Fear The Walking Dead.
