Director Eric Kripke Talks About Jensen Ackles’ Role In The Boys Season 3!

It’s been a while since Eric Kripke was in the director’s chair, but he’s back for The Boys Season 3. We had the opportunity to chat with Eric about Jensen Ackles’ role and what we can expect from Eric this season.

“This is a very different character than he’s played before,” Eric told us of Jensen’s new character, Billy Butcher. “He’s much more complicated, layered, and morally conflicted.”

Eric assures viewers that there will be plenty of time spent on exploring this amazing actor who has become an icon to fans all over the world! We can’t wait!

The Boys Season 3 Renewal Status

The Boys has officially been renewed for a third season on Amazon Prime Video! Eric Kripke, director of the series and Executive Producer, spoke to us about how excited he is: “I’m very happy that we get to return to this incredible cast. I can’t wait to explore more of Billy Butcher’s role.” Eric also teased his future involvement with the show – hinting at some possible changes in story-telling format for Season Three: “We might be seeing things through different perspectives…and there may or not be new characters coming onto the scene.”

It’s no surprise that Eric Kripke isn’t giving up any hints just yet about what fans can expect from season three, but it seems likely that they’ll be back sometime next year.

The Boys Season three will be released on Amazon Prime Video in 2022! But Eric Kripke doesn’t know when that may be just yet, but it is going to happen!

Eric Kripke was over two hours into a conversation; with me about how he first became aware of the graphic novel; The Boys from producer Seth Rogan when he paused for just one second as if remembering something important; before blurting out, “I don’t want to say anything else.” I respect Eric’s wishes not to spoil any upcoming plot points, but it seems likely they’ll be back sometime next year – we can all hope!
