The Netflix Original Ultraman Season Two is coming in 2021! Netflix has just released a teaser trailer for the anime series, which you can watch below. The manga will be available on Netflix in late 2021 or early 2022 as well. It tells more of Shinjiro’s story before his final battle with Jirass and shows how he became an Ultraman.

Ultraman Season 2 Renewal Status

Netflix has confirmed that Ultraman Season Two is coming! OTT Netflix was able to announce the renewal because they have reached an agreement with TOHO and Production I.G. said, “As a Netflix Original series, we’re excited to share ‘Ultraman’ will return for its second season in 2021.”

This also means that Netflix is interested in working on more anime projects with TOHO in the future as well! These new productions will likely be based on the popular manga or novels of their stories as opposed to completely original concepts like Ultraman Season One.

Netflix Release Date for Ultraman Season 2

The Netflix release date for this season is yet to be announced, but it’s expected in late 2021 or early 2022. It will also include 12 episodes and three special features, including “Ultraman: The Beginning,” which tells more about how Ultraman came into being on Earth; “Saigo no Hoshi” (Last Star), which focuses on some of the most popular monsters seen from previous seasons that have already appeared.

The speculated release date for Netflix’s famous manga Ultraman Season 2 is August 2021. The date is not confirmed to be releasing the first episode, but an online event will be held on 24th August for the same.

Ultraman Season 2 Plot Details and Storyline

In season one, we were introduced to Shinjiro Hayata; (the only human capable of fighting monsters), who goes by the name Ultraman; after being given powers from another Ultra called Belial Dark, giving him special abilities; like flight and invulnerability. In this second season, we see the story of the original Ultraman Zero; who meets a human named Shinjiro Hayata before he became an Ultra.

Shin Hayata of the Science Patrol; returns to his hometown in Kobe, Japan, only to find it ravaged by a giant monster; called King Joe that has been terrorizing the world for over four years. He speaks with Professor Furukawa, who reveals an artificial Ultraman was created as a defense system against these monsters but now appears to be weakening.

With this information on hand, he joins forces with the Japanese Defense Force (JDF), which includes such members like Hideki Goh from Ultraman Jack’s team; they fight together against King Joe until Hayata becomes too tired.

Potential Spin-Offs and Twists in Season 2 of Ultraman

Netflix is yet to announce whether Ultraman Season two will have a season three for the show, but if it does and depending on how Netflix goes about their distribution with the original series, could see other spin-offs in future seasons as well.

Netflix has previously acquired licenses from Japan’s Toei Company who owns the rights of all Ultra shows – including Weekly Shonen Jump, which hosts manga like Naruto, One Piece, etc., where Netflix got exclusive streaming rights for these titles outside Asia. Ultraman also belongs to this list and Netflix getting worldwide exclusivity over an entire franchise set them up nicely for potential collaborations down the line.
