‘The Underground Railroad,’ a thriller that examines the brutal slavery system in America, recently debuted on Amazon Prime Video. Season one of this show, based on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead, follows Cora Randall’s escape from Georgia with help from slaves and strangers along her journey. We’re so excited for The Underground Railroad Season 2, and we know you are too! But what do we actually know about the show? Here is everything that we have found out about season 2.

The Underground Railroad Season 2 Renewal and Renewal Details:

It is unknown whether the second season will be greenlighted. Jenkins specifically intended it to be a limited series, and lecturing access to all of the source material doesn’t bode well for its future plans.

There is the possibility of a second season for Big Little Lies, but it’s still unclear. If they do make another season it will likely be releasing around 2022 when the show would have ended if it was considered to simply be a limited series.

The Underground Railroad Season 2 Cast Details:

If the show is renewed, Thuso Mbedu would need to return as Cora Randall. Without her narration, there are parts of the story that just simply cannot be told. In season two, it might be worth telling another character’s story other than Cora to give the writers an opportunity to focus on new characters.

The Underground Railroad Season 2 Plot Synopsis:

Near the end of the first season of The Underground Railroad, we know that Mabel wandered off into a nearby swamp in a dazed state after her best friend killed herself and two infants who were shoved into her car right after she gave birth to stillborn.

Mabel, realizing where she was and that she had left her daughter behind, turned around to go back for the girl. She never made it back to Cora, however, as she was bitten by a snake and died of the poison right there in the swamp.
