When I was first thinking about what kind of story I wanted my movie to tell, John popped into my head. John felt like an interesting character to follow around because he has no idea who he is or what’s going on in the world. At first, John doesn’t know if his name is John and whether it’s a common name or not; then John doesn’t remember anything about his life at all!

But some clues lead him on this journey of self-discovery: both from within himself (John finds out more about why he was named John) as well as other people and objects in the world around him (he meets many people who call themselves John). A lot of these things make sense after figuring them out but some don’t they just seem weird until you can start to connect the dots. John also has a few strange dreams that have seemingly prophetic qualities.
