The CW’s upcoming series, All American: Homecoming, will be overseen by Nkechi Okoro Carroll. “We are proud to introduce our talented cast of new characters. The writers and producers have done a great job setting things up for an exciting spin-off series,” said Warner Bros TV Group Chairman Channing Dungey (via Deadline).

Dungey promised audiences a “fun” watch, adding: “The world of the HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and universities) has not been seen on American television this way. And Nkechi Carroll taking us into college gives us the opportunity to be racier with more daring.”

Six All American cast members will be making their Homecoming Limited Press Comic-Con debut. It inculcates Geffri Maya, Peyton Alex Smith, Kelly Jenrette, Cory Hardrict, Sylvester Powell, Netta Walker, and Camille Hyde.

“I have been thinking of what I should say… All I want to do is encourage and celebrate black excellence” said Maya on Instagram. “Going to an HBCU is one thing, but being able to create a show honoring all the legacy of halls built for us by people with purpose and dreams bigger than their own… It has my endless gratitude.”

All American Homecoming Release Date Details:

The series All American will launch its first episode on a Monday, July 5th. The show is produced by Michael Schultz who also directed Netflix’s Black Lightning and ABC Family’sAll American.

All American airs on The CW and Netflix in North America, but as of right now, there is not a UK streaming site that provides the show. It remains to be seen whether this will change with Homecoming.

All American Homecoming Plot Synopsis:

The drama is about an up-and-coming tennis star from Beverly Hills and a talented baseball player from Chicago, who both enter the extremely competitive world of college sports. On top of that, they’re juggling their life and other responsibilities at a highly esteemed historically Black college.
