Bullet Point Two: So says actor Antony Starr on the upcoming third season of The Boys. It sounds like he’s not the only one who thinks so. “We wanted to show, in a way that’s maybe not so obvious from the comics themselves, how corrupt and broken superheroes are,” Starr said. “They’re just as bad or worse than the people they oppose.”

For season three, according to Starr: “The Boys will be dealing with this new world order of superheroes being free agents–they can go anywhere they want.” This is something he thinks The Boys haven’t really dealt with before–namely, because it didn’t exist yet when they began filming.

“It definitely creates an interesting triangle,” Starr hints. “There seems to be something going on with my character.” We’re guessing it’s not just tension at work; you can’t spell romantic conflict without KAREN!

what can we expect from the boys in season 3?

We can expect the boys to continue their exploration of masculinity, sexuality, and life in general. There will be new characters that we haven’t seen before who are looking for a family with The Boys themselves. These may or may not become permanent members of the crew, but they’ll help us explore some different aspects of what it means to be masculine and how identity ties into all this stuff. We’ll also get back to exploring some mythology from previous seasons, so a lot is coming down the pipe, which should make things more interesting as well.

What Antony Starr Said: “I think people can anticipate just an exciting season,” he said, adding that Season Three takes place six months after part two wrapped up-meaning at least one major development has happened in the interim. “It’s a good time to become invested.”

After he left The Boys, Starr said, he was still getting scripts and reading them for fun because “I’m so engaged with these characters and their development, and I think that’s why they’re making another season .”
