The Crown Season 5

Season 5 of The Crown is coming. And if you’re anything like me, you want to know everything about it before the season starts. In this blog post, I’ll give you all the information that we currently have on Season 5 so far. There are a few changes being made with regard to casting and production for Season 5 – but beyond that, not much else is known at this point in time!

The Crown Season 5 Release Details:

Production on the fifth season of The Crown will start in July, Variety confirmed with producers. Filming will take place at Elstree Studios and is expected to abide by COVID-19 protocols.

Despite the show starting production earlier this year, Season 5 likely won’t arrive on Netflix until 2022. Deadline reported that the cancellation was planned all along. The break is due to a lack of flu cases caused by the coronavirus pandemic, not because “the Crown” needed a rest.

The Crown Season 5 Plot Synopsis:

The story of season 5 reportedly includes Princess Diana’s famous interview. Deadline reported that season 5 would cover Princess Diana’s 1996 BBC interview. She discusses the fallout about her marriage, Prince Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and her feeling unsupported by the Royal Institution.

Her famous line “There were three of us in this marriage” from the sit-down is her contribution to determining that she and Charles had a marriage with an open relationship.

In recent months, an investigation of the 1997 interview with BBC journalist Martin Bashir has revealed that unethical practices were used to secure Diana’s participation.
