Plot Summary
The drama follows Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster hunter for hire. Known as witchers, these have mutated and developed supernatural abilities at a young age to battle the monsters plaguing their world. His journey leads him through warring countries and across worlds on a quest to find Ciri, one such girl who is said to hold the power of The Elder Blood.
The Witcher is an upcoming drama series based on a book series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, which follows Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavil), a professional monster hunter for hire who struggles against supernatural forces in his world.
Season one introduced viewers to Geralt as he searched for Ciri (Freya Allan) while battling threats from all sides and making some dangerous new allies, including sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). As the story progresses in season two, witchers will be set into unreactive Northern Kingdoms, where they’ll battle with Nilfgaardian invaders and take part in Lithia’s search for Ciri.

The season is also going to feature guest stars like Anna Shaffer, who plays Triss Merigold in Game of Thrones, Ania Bukstein playing Trippa, and Lars Mikkelsen starring alongside Henry Cavill once more as Rochefort a Nilfgaardian spy.
Renewal Status
Season 2 of “The Witcher” was already renewed before season 1. The production had to stop after “Games of Thrones” actor Kristofer HIVju was attached to The Witcher to play the role of Nivelle.
After many delays, filming was finally completed in April 2021. Netflix has teased the next season with teasers and trailers. However, there is no update on the release date.
