The fourth and final season of “Stranger Things” has been announced under the working title “Stranger Things 4.” David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, teased what to expect in the new series. He said that this is a show about change and growth. The actor also mentioned that there are going to be some major plot twists happening soon!

David Harbour has teased what the upcoming season of Stranger Things will entail in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He confirmed that it’s not just another “monster-of-the-week” show but rather one where change and growth are themes.

David said that this is a show about change and growth. He continued by saying, “The first two seasons were about establishing this world as being out of sorts, but with rules – we’re not here for you every day; it seems like everything’s on schedule, and then something happens where suddenly the rules are broken, and everything is upside down,” David said. “Season three was about finding a new order within that chaos for our little family. Season four will be about how we grow up too, out of this childhood.”

Release Date Speculations for Stranger Things Season 4

The show might take place during Christmas because they had decorations up on set. David also mentioned they could have just been filming for fun with their friends.

A post from the Duffer Brothers’ Twitter account suggested that production started back in October or November 2019.

However, with the Coronavirus delay, the show is unlikely to release this year (i.e. 2021). But the sad news is, there are no confirmations yet that the show will definitely release in 2022. We can just hope for the best updates about the speculated Season finale!

Star Cast Update for Season 4

David Harbour hinted in his interview with Entertainment Tonight that they would be exploring the character of Hopper’s father.

David also mentioned, “A lot of people have strong opinions about him, but he’s just a guy who had to do something really tough,” and it’ll be interesting to see what all this means for Season Four.

However, the main artists include Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, and Noah Schnapp.

Stranger Things Season 4 Plotline as revealed by David Harbour.

David Harbour reveals that the show will end in season four. He also teases what can fans expect when it comes to the cast and their relationships with each other, as well as some insight into how they grow up too – past childhood. “I think we’ll see them go back through puberty,” David said about Hopper and Joyce’s relationship during an interview for Variety’s Actors on Actors series aired by PBS (via Entertainment Weekly). “maybe like start going a little more toward adolescence.” David added: “It starts off dark but I’m hoping by episode two you’re getting some laughs again.”

David is very excited for the show to return and said that he loves what they’ve done with it so far (via The Hollywood Reporter). The actor is hopeful for a season four. David says: “I think we’re closer than we’ve ever been, finally.”

“I’m excited to see how people react to this,” David continued. “It’s unlike anything I’ve seen on TV before.”

He also stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the new series saying: “This year, there are more joys — but true fears as well. It’s not all happy-go-lucky like last year … We have different tensions; some of them feel very adult now because these kids are long past childhood.

“The ending is up for grabs, and David says it will be “satisfying in some way.” He shared that the cast has only read through Episode Seven right now. David also said they’re curious to see how fans react to this season and if there might still be a Season Five. David shares: “I think we’re closer than we’ve ever been, finally.”

“It feels like an endpoint,” he explained of the new episodes as well as what may come after them. “But I don’t know exactly when that point would have to happen for us to say it’s the endpoint.
