“Minions”:The Rise of Gru Plot, Cast and Release Details: What We Know So Far

The Minions are back with their very own movie- “Minions,” and it looks like they’re up to no good. You may be asking yourself, what is this plot about? Well, if you read on, we’ll tell you exactly that!

“Minions”: the rise of GRU is about what?

We all know the story of how Gru met the minions in his youth while working for a supervillain. He was then fired from his job when he refused to follow orders and went off to start his own business along with three little girls Margo, Edith, and Agnes. Nowadays, he spends most of his time trying to make money through various schemes but fails miserably every time.

When Gru finds out about the invention of a new kind of ray called PX-41, which is capable of turning any object or person into their opposites, he decides to go on an adventure with his minions and take over this project for himself but instead ends up realizing that he can’t do it alone when they learn more about what’s going in the lab and how these villains will use the serum to turn themselves evil.

To stop them from getting there first, Gru decides to team up with Dr. Nefario (his long-time assistant) to get back home safely after being kidnapped by Scarlet Overkill, who also happens to be one of those bad guys shooting. For world domination!

The main character of the movie is Gru, who will be played by actor Steve Carell. Dr. Nefario (Gru’s trusty assistant) and Scarlet Overkill are also featured in this film, as well as other popular minions characters such as Kevin, Stuart, Jerry, and Bob!

The villain of the film is Scarlet Overkill, who will be played by actress Sandra Bullock. This character was originally going to be voiced by comedian Amy Poehler, but due to scheduling conflicts with her other projects, she had to decline this role.

Other characters in the movie include Gru’s long-time assistant Dr. Nefario as well as some popular minions, are Kevin, Stuart, Jerry, and Bob!

The main villain for this film is a female named Scarlet O’Hare (the name has been changed from “Scarlet Overkill”). She will be played by actress Sandra Bullock instead of comedian Amy Poehler because audiences may confuse the two actresses if they share their names on screen at once.

What is the plot?

In this movie, Gru is still a villain, but he has been retired for years. Scarlet Overkill manages to steal the moon from him and his family after she disguises herself as her twin brother (also played by Sandra Bullock).

The minions find out about what Scarlet has done, and they want revenge on her! They go back in time once again so that they can stop Scarlet before she steals the moon. It’s going to be very funny because there are some really unexpected moments in the storyline. We will also meet all of our favorite characters, such as Dr. Nefario, Kevin, Stuart, Jerry, and Bob!

A new super-villain named Scarlett O’Hare attempts to make off with an enormous diamond called the Moonstone but, once again, finds her plots foiled by a bunch of pesky Minions. In this animated sequel to 2014’s smash hit “Despicable Me,” they travel back in time so that one Minion (Kevin) can replace Scarlet Overkill and become Gru’s new partner-in-crime.

Release details:

Universal Pictures opted to push the release date back one year to July 2, 2021 (via CNBC). This was largely due to theatrical shutdowns worldwide

so its expected release date is July 1, 2022.
