Plot Summary

Aspiring musician Christopher (Kevin Bacon) spends his days slumped in front of the TV and stewing over life’s injustices. After a car accident leaves him paralyzed from the neck down, he sinks into depression and becomes increasingly disconnected from those around him – until he meets Julie (Michelle Monaghan), a depressive who lost her entire family in the same accident that Christopher survived. They connect instantly, and their love rekindles his will to live, but a series of fleeting moments where he experiences life from her perspective leads him to question what it means to be alive.
