There have been several reports in recent months suggesting that the studio has had discussions with Rick Riordan, author, and creator of the books, and plans to develop a live-action TV show based on his work. In an interview with Variety, Riordan says he’s “definitely interested in seeing how they want to do it.”

What was Rick Riordan says Percy Jackson series from Disney+?

“The main thing is, I want to see what happens with the [TV] show because that will determine if they can get away from telling a story for every book and do something more like Game of Thrones,” Riordan told Variety. “I’m not sure Disney+ has enough money for that, but you never know!”

Riordan also said he would be willing to work with Disney on the TV series: “If they wanted me involved in some way as a creative consultant or mentor or advisor – any sort of involvement just so we could have this conversation before the final scripts are written and things go too far along without my input — yeah, absolutely.”

Disney’s own president said that some of Riordan’s books will be “very natural fits” and could make their way onto Netflix as well – though it seems like Hercules might happen first.

What happens with the show?

There’s no word yet whether Rick Riordan will develop the series for Disney+ or not, but the show is already rumored to be in development. Meanwhile, it seems like Hercules might happen first – though some think this could happen too soon since we’re still waiting on a film adaptation of The Heroes Of Olympus series. And Rick Riordan has also said that he “would have liked” including Jason and his stories into future films based off his books as well

Why it is still being rumored?

The Percy Jackson series is still being rumored for Disney+, and that’s got fans of Rick Riordan’s novels, as well as those who are just looking forward to the new TV show based on his books waiting eagerly. However, this all hinges on one thing: will they be able to get away from telling a story for every book and do something more like Game of Thrones? “I want [the producers] to decide how many seasons it’ll be,” said Rick Riordan in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about what he wants out of the franchise at Disney+. He continued by saying, “and I’d rather have them spread it out over five or six seasons than cramming too much into three.” There has been no word.
