What do we know about the series?

What we know so far includes that Michael Fassbender may portray the protagonist of Callum Lynch as he uncovers his ancestry from Aguilar de Nerha through genetic memory via an invention called Animus technology which allows him to experience Aguilar’s memories. We don’t yet know who will play this role, but actor Tom Hardy is reportedly being considered.

We don’t yet know who will play this role, but actor Tom Hardy is reportedly being considered for it and would make a perfect fit, considering his background with action movies like “Mad Max” and “Bronson.” He has proven time and again that he can take on any role and deliver a compelling performance.

In addition to Lynch’s story, there will be time jumps between 15th-century Spain in the Animus and modern-day New York City as seen through his ancestor Aguilar with new conflicts arising within this family dynamic.

The show is being created by Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ top production team, including head of content Tommy Francois, who has been working on Assassin’s Creed for over a decade. They have collectively supervised all the big-screen adaptations thus far: “Assassin’s Creed” (2007), “Assassin’s Creed II” (2009), “Assassin’s Creed III” (2012), and “Unity”. The producer, Jean Guesdon, said that during these years, he had witnessed people’s fascination with the franchise, which he said: “had an enduring appeal because of its characters and their struggle for human values in a time where greed has become more important than life.”

This new show will be written by Dan Watters (“Inhumans”, “Doctor Who”), who was also responsible for the “Escape from New York” episode of Assassin’s Creed III. He is partnering up with Ubisoft series veteran Kyle McVey to co-executive produce/co-showrun.

The team behind this upcoming TV adaptation includes director Justin Kurzel (known for directing Macbeth) as well as other crew members like cinematographer Adam Arkapaw (responsible for shooting Snowtown), production designer Jade Healy (who has worked on The Fate of the Furious and Mad Max: Fury Road), composer Jed Kurzel (known for his work with director David Michôd, including “The Babadook” and “Animal Kingdom”), costume designer Sandra Kurtz (“Assassin’s Creed Syndicate”)

Marius Marot will be leading technology development to create a revolutionary Assassin’s Creed TV show. At Ubisoft Montreal, he is known as “the guy who brought you Watch Dogs.”

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that this new Netflix series would not continue Desmond Miles’ story, but it might offer some clues about where the franchise could go next after its movie adaptation/reboot in 2020 directed by Justin Kurzel himself with Academy Award nominee Marion Cotillard, Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons, and Emmy Nominee Michael K. Williams.

What can we expect?

The Assassin’s Creed Netflix series will be based in 15th century Spain during the Inquisition with new heroes to meet all-new villains as well as returning ones.

Ubisoft has announced today that it’s teaming up with Uma Thurman for a live-action adaptation of “Assassin’s Creed: Eden,” by author Anthony McCarten (with whom Ubisoft is also collaborating on its cinematic release). The book follows twin brother Andrianne and Julian Grace, who are separated at birth but both grow up to become assassins without knowing they share a bond until their paths cross unexpectedly years later when one of them.
