Teaser Trailer Details: “What if Teens” Edition

A new teaser trailer for Atypical season four dropped in June, showcasing what it might look like when “the teens take over.” This is supposedly only one version of the teaser.

Atypical has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming season! The trailer features an orchestral version of the atypical theme song. It also shows Sam trying to find his therapist and some shots from inside the school. There is not much information about what will happen in this new season, but it’s enough to get you excited for more atypicals content!

Plot Details For Atypical Season Four

The new season is set to take a turn for the worse. Sam will be seen; refusing medication, not going to school, and trying all sorts of things; he’s never done before- which mostly includes; drugs. He’ll get into more trouble than usual; when his sister; gets pregnant at 16 years old, and they have no idea what their parents are doing; about it. The only one who knows; how much pain Sam is in will be Dr. Anna Akopian; played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, but she won’t be able to help him as easily; this time around, since her focus has shifted towards another patient; with a borderline personality disorder.

The show takes place; at a fictional high school called “Atypical High,” and it follows the life of Sam Gardner, an 18-year old on the autism spectrum.

The first two seasons focused on his senior year in high school, while season three put him there as a freshman at college. The fourth is set to take another turn for the worse when he refuses medication, not going to school, and trying all sorts of things he’s never done before – mostly drugs. He’ll get into more trouble than usual because his sister gets pregnant at 16 years old, and they have no idea what their parents are doing about it.

Cast Updates For Atypical Season Four

There will be plenty happening this time around since Dr. Anna Akopian, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, has shifted her focus from Sam towards someone else with borderline personality disorder who also needs help but is much more dangerous.

There’s Elsa, played by Brigette Lundy-Paine, who is struggling to keep the family together to honour her mom. And there are his biological parents, with new addition Jay Duplass playing a character called Pete trying hard at getting back into Sam’s life and not be so much of an absent father anymore.
