A Castlevania Spinoff Series is coming to Netflix
Netflix has announced that it will be releasing a Castlevania series. Castlevania is a popular video game franchise with origins dating back to the 1980s; Netflix hopes to capitalize on this by producing an original animation drama based on it. The show will have four 30 minute episodes in total, and the first one will air sometime later this year.
The Castlevania series will be created by Adi Shankar, the producer of “Dredd,” and it is being written by Warren Ellis. The animation style has been described as a mix between anime and Western art, with some shots in each episode taking inspiration from paintings like Balthus’ ‘Young Girl Reading.’
Ellis has already written the first episode, and Shankar is looking for someone to take on the project of writing the remaining three.
