He’ll need to get used to wearing that Mandalorian armor and playing a tough bounty hunter who is also the father of Boba Fett.

What’s the role in “book of boba feet”?

The actor will reprise his iconic role of Boba Fett in a project called The Book of Obi-Wan. This new movie is set to be released sometime next year and will follow the character’s adventures between Episode III and IV, according to director Stephen Daldry. Morrison says that it’s “cool to be such an iconic character.” He adds: “I’ve never been so excited before—it was awesome!” In addition to playing Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Attack of the Clones, Tempura Morrison played Jango Fett for much of Episode II–he did not reprise this role when Hayden Christensen took over duties during some scenes. Morrison confessed that he was told about the new film’s existence a year ago but was sworn to secrecy.

At this point, it is unclear what role Morrison will play in The Book of Obi-Wan or how much screen time he’ll have; however, there are speculations that his character might be Boba Fett’s father, Jango. “There could well be some connection with Jango,” says Daldry and adds: “It would make sense for him to appear.”

The actor has also been seen filming scenes as General Grievous–another iconic Star Wars villain from Episode III who is rumored to play a major part in future films. It isn’t clear yet where these scenes fit within the franchise timeline.

Morrison, during this time around, was never involved with any of the planning for The Book of Obi-Wan and had no idea he would be playing Boba Fett’s father until it was announced not long before release (although one could argue that all his work on Rogue One and Solo meant there were signs). He says: “I feel like I’ve got unfinished business.” Morrison hopes to continue acting but admits that retirement may soon come calling while he enjoys the recent successes of his children.

Away from work, he and his wife Vanessa have been taking in a lot of movies lately: “We’ve seen at least eight films so far this year.” It’s not all about Star Wars though, as Morrison admits to having an ‘intense’ relationship with cinema that has dated back to childhood when he was hooked on Westerns such as The Magnificent Seven. He recalls seeing Sergio Leone’s Once Upon A Time In America for the first time and being left reeling by its violence: “The blood sprayed like it looked beautiful against those white sheets.”
