Synopsis:

Luke Wilson moves to New York City from a small town in Texas after his dad’s death when he was four years old. He faces the challenges of growing up without having any strong male role model as he tries to come out about his sexuality while also dealing with mental illness.

His character deals with depression and anxiety that were exacerbated by childhood trauma at the hands of an older boy who sexually assaulted him during early adolescence; this traumatic event caused Wilson to have suicidal thoughts and subsequently self-harm through cutting himself before coming out which causes further alienation from others around him including family members until he meets Pete Henry (Tim Robbins) – a man.
