If we do some digging into future planned Disney releases, there are upcoming slots for ‘Untitled Disney Live Action’ movie releases on December 17, 2021, April 8, 2022, May 27, 2022, August 12, 2022, and November 4, 2022.

The December 2021 release feels too soon with the movie just starting filming, but any of those 2022 dates are possible. It’s all dependent on future Disney releases, as the calendar is constantly changing, so we don’t exactly know when The Little Mermaid will be released for now.

We don’t know who will star as Ariel in The Little Mermaid Live-Action movie! There are rumours that Saoirse Ronan might play the redheaded mermaid princess, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation just yet. In addition to voice casting, we also need actors playing Ursula (Jodi Benson), King Triton (Samuel E. Wright), and Sebastian (Bobby Driscoll). Who do you think should fill these roles?

What will the plot be about?

The Little Mermaid Live-Action movie is loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of The Little Mermaid. In Disney’s version, Ariel falls in love with a human prince and agrees to give up her voice for legs so she can walk among humans, but when Sebastian informs Triton that he must kill his own daughter or risk war between their worlds, Ariel’s father changes his mind–but it may already be too late.
