Central Park Season 2 Premiere Details:
Central Park Season 2 will be released on Friday, June 25, 2021. Central Park first aired on Apple TV+ in May 2020, so this would mean about a year between the new season and the first season.
The platform will premiere the first three episodes of the second season on the date. The rest of the new episodes will continue to be released weekly.
Apple TV+ has already confirmed a third season for the series, which had creator Bouchard celebrating on his Twitter account. “Seasons 2 and 3 of Central Park mean 29 more episodes and something like 115 new songs,” Bouchard claimed.
This puts Season 2 with about 15 episodes, give or take, and plenty of new songs to tap your foot to. The recent announcement should have fans excited for upcoming seasons for quite some time.
Central Park Season 2 Cast Details:
Central Park’s first season had a slew of first-rate actors lending their voice talents. Along with the aforementioned Gad, Katherine Hahn, Stanley Tucci, Tituss Burgess, and Hamilton alums Leslie Odom Jr. and Daveed Diggs.
One actress who will not return to reprise her role in season 2 is Kristen Bell, who voiced Molly on the show. Bell chose to step down, admitting that a white actor – Zachary Levi – was cast in the role of an ethnically mixed character.
The role is now played by Emmy Raver-Lampman. The Observer spoke to Lampman in August 2020 about the role and her thoughts about racial diversity.
Central Park Season 2 Trailer Details:
While there is no official trailer for season 2, Apple TV+ released a video preview on YouTube featuring “Weehawken Rap,” which will likely make an appearance in the next season of the series.
“Weehawken Rap” is a tribute to the hometown of Central Park’s Helen, the abused and unhappy assistant to Bitsy. The scene shows Helen palling around in Weehawken with her employer before dropping this rhyme about the love for her city: I’m from this city, so please watch how you’re talking.
Daveed Diggs stars in season 2 of “central park” when playing Helen, displaying his trademark speed and eloquence, all while referencing both the site in this town where Burr shot Hamilton (full reference is not known to editors) and the show ‘Hamilton.’
When new episodes for the second season of Central Park begins this summer, they will likely show musical numbers like “The Weehawken Rap.”
