Netflix has just released a new horror movie based on the format of an anthology series. Blood Red Sky is co-created by Eli Craig and directed by Mike Flanagan, whose film Gerald’s Game was adapted into Netflix’s first foray into meeting their original programming vision for creating an “unforgettable cinematic event.” This short-form horror flick features six stories that take place in different timelines around the 20th century where something or someone ancient terrorizes humanity. The cast includes Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush), Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community).

There are currently; no actors; attached to the film; however, with Netflix’s recent history; of red-headed leads, in their films (such as Will Smith), it could be possible; that we see a similar trend emerge.
The director; is unknown; at this time; because they have not announced; who will helm the project and what genre; it falls under. However, there has been an increase; in Netflix horror movies; over recent years; so it could fall; into either category; depending on how much more information; becomes available; about the release date for Blood Red Sky.
Netflix seems to be following in Amazon Prime’s footsteps when it comes to streaming exclusive content but taking things one step further by releasing original movies, too; with such high-quality productions being released.
The theme for the movie:
The horror genre has seen an uptick in popularity over recent years, with The Shining being one of Netflix’s most viewed films for 2021 alone (according to their website). However, it seems that they have gone back into content production as Blood Red Sky will be released late this year, according to Netflix’s website.
Netflix’s Horror Movie Blood Red Sky will be released later this year and has a Netflix Original feel to it. It is unclear as of yet what the release date for Blod Red Sky will be, or if all subscribers can watch it, but there are some clues on the Netflix website which you may wish to look out for!
The short movie version of Blood Red Sky
Netflix’s Blood Red Sky is not the first iteration of this story as Peter Thorwarth directed a short action scene with a different cast and crew back in 2015. It is unclear what its purpose was, but it is available publicly online, so we might as well take a look. We may very well see a newer version of this scene in the film this July.
Is “Blood Red Sky” movie worth watching?
I love Netflix’s Original horror movies for the thrill and suspense. The originals are often quite scary, but not in a gory way- more like psychological thriller or ghost story style. Pass on some of the sequels if you’re looking to avoid violence or gore (although they can be good as well).
In this sci-fi tale by David Nicholls, he tells us that there is another world behind ours, one where danger lurks! This other world has been kept at bay from our own until now when something causes it to inadvertently breakthrough into ours, causing chaos and destruction wherever it falls. It’s up to Molly and her family, who lives near ground zero, along with Sally.
In this action-packed horror movie, a group of friends decides to spend the night in an abandoned house and experience a series of horrific events that leads them all closer to death. Blood Red Sky is released on Netflix on July 18th.
