Will the original cast be returning for Aladdin 2 Live-Action Remake?

Yes! Aladdin stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Marwan Kenzari will be reprising their roles as Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar, respectively. Will Smith is confirmed to be playing the Genie in Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin. The studio announced on 18 February 2019 that he’ll star opposite Massoud in a “witty” take on the role originally made famous by Robin Williams in 1992’s animated original (Smith was already set to voice one of the genies sidekicks). In July 2018, it was reported that Guy Ritchie might not direct due to other commitments but would still produce and handle duties such as casting. It was then later revealed that Wadiya Hamid had been hired to direct Aladdin.

Will Aladdin 2 Live-Action Remake have the same plotline and spin-offs as the original movie?

Yes, Aladdin’s adventures will be revisited in the live-action adaptation. Fans can expect to see familiar characters and plot points that have been a part of Disney’s animated film for decades. Though there are no details yet on what or who they’ll meet along the way, the new movie is likely to include Aladdin’s hometown Agrabah, Princess Jasmine, and her father Sultan, as well as Jafar.

The plot of a live-action movie is different from the original animated film. They are just using the same characters and general storey ideas as the first adaptation, but there’s no telling what will happen in this new version! The Aladdin franchise has been around for decades, so it would make sense to include these memorable moments from previous films in some way or another.

In the original Aladdin, Jasmine was supposed to marry a prince from another land before meeting Aladdin, but it seems there will be no mention of that happening this time around. The plot is still being kept under wraps, with Disney not confirming many details about the movie yet!

What we know about Aladdin so far:

There was speculation that Guy Ritchie might not direct due to other commitments, but Wadiya Hamid had been hired to direct Aladdin. Though there were rumours he wouldn’t be available because of his commitment with Disney+ Series ‘Lion King,’ sources say they’re simply producing and directing casting, which makes us suspect he’ll be involved in some way.

Mena Massoud had been cast to play Aladdin, Naomi Scott, who starred as Princess Jasmine in ‘Power Rangers’ (2017), would portray her character too. Nasim Pedrad has also joined the cast to play Aladdin’s new love interest.
