Disney has been on a roll with its live-action movies, and Cruella 2 is the latest film that they are working on. For those who don’t know, Cruella 2 will be a sequel to the original 101 Dalmatians movie. The film is expected to release in 2022, but there have been no other details released about it so far. The Cruella sequel is officially in development. Disney has not released any other information about the film at this point, but it will be directed by Mike Mitchell and Peter Candeland, who have been working on films such as Shrek Forever After, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Dumbo, Epic Mickey II: Power of Two and more. Even if Cruella 2 is placed into active development in the coming months, a sequel wouldn’t be released until 2023 at the earliest, taking into consideration the time Disney would need to mount the production and for the main cast to return. And that’s if things for Cruella 2 move quickly. For example, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil was released in 2019, 5 years after the original, so Cruella 2 could fall within a similar possible timeline.

The Cast:

We can’t wait to see who Disney casts for the sequel. With voice actors such as Emma Thompson and Glenn Close, we’re sure that they’ll do a great job of choosing talent. Sadly, there’s no word on casting yet but if it’s like most sequels, then expect some amazing new talents (plus those from the original) to join in on this adventure. Will any other villains are making an appearance, or will Cruella have her hands full just fighting against Elsa, Ariel, and Pocahontas? We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the plot for Cruella II yet, but if we look back on some other Disney sequels, then it’s safe to say that she has probably been living happily ever after with her henchmen Jasper and Horace.
