The Falcon & The Winter Soldier Season 2: Everything We Know

The Falcon And The Winter

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 has been announced. The first season was a huge success, with fan-favorite characters like Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Spiderman joining the cast of heroes. Will they be back for another round? Here is what you need to know about the new series!

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier Season 2 Release Date Details:

Marvel has a packed roster of upcoming shows across 2021-22, so it would depend on when there are more production openings. With the first wave of shows either being filmed or beginning production in 2021, then it seems more likely that  Falcon & Winter Soldier will not start filming until late-2021 or early-2022.

Production on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 will likely take between 3-6 months due to now, COVID-19. A late 2022 release is possible, but it doesn’t guarantee that the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 will air around March or April of 2022.

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier Season 2 Cast Details:

If The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 indeed happens, then most of its original cast would reprise their previous roles. Mackie and Stan are the headliners of the show with their role as MCU’s iconic heroes in addition to being title characters, so they’d have to return.

Both actors previously signed a long-term contract for Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie appearances, but the TV shows presumably have deals of their own either way.

Based on the show’s first season, Falcon & Winter Soldier season 2 would have to include Wyatt Russell as John Walker (alias US Agent), Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo.

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier Season 2 Plot Synopsis:

Although the Flag-Smashers were defeated, there was plenty of setup for a Falcon and the Winter Soldier Season two in the season one finale. The finale of the first season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier reveals Sharon Carter is ultimately working for both S.H.I.E.L.D.

It’s not revealed who she’s speaking to, but the implication is either Zemo or Valentina. With both Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers confirmed in MCU lore in recent years – rather than just one off-screen team-up like Hammerhead previously attempted with Tony Stark – this points to either of these teams being set up for Season 2 of Falcon & Winter Soldier.

One of the most troublesome problems, as explored in season 2, is a character called John Walker. The US Agent from the comics who adopts this code-name seems more clean-cut than his comic counterpart, but he does seem to take on different methods that could put him at odds with Sam and Bucky (though not outright villainous).
