Who is “Shang-chi”?

In the Marvel Universe, Shang-Chi is a martial artist and secret agent of British Intelligence. The character first appeared in Special Marvel Edition #15 (1974), published by Atlas Comics, later known as Marvel Comics. He was created by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin.

What are that 10 rings?

The Ten Rings is a terrorist organization in Marvel Comic’s universe, lead by the Mandarin. The ten rings were created from an alien device called the Cosmic Cube and therefore possessed powers similar to that of said object. Shang-Chi was originally part of this group but eventually left it out of his own free will because he felt like they committed more evil than good. He still has ties with them, though, as he knows some information about their leader who can help him on missions when required due to his martial arts skills.

What is Shang-Chi’s back story?

Shang-chi was a normal boy living in the Hunan Province of China, born to an English mother and Chinese father. He grew up there until his parents were killed by bandits who also destroyed his home. The trauma at such a young age led him to forget how he learned martial arts from his father. After leaving China, he found himself in Hong Kong, where he got involved with criminal gangs that eventually ended up getting arrested for their crimes or died along the way as they turned against each other due to greed over money and power.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will now be released on 3rd September 2021. It was previously set for 9th July, having originally been rescheduled from 8th May.

It is one of many changes to the recently commenced Marvel phase four, with Black Widow now releasing (in cinemas and on Disney+ Premier Access) on 9th July – the date previously held for Shang-Chi – and Spider-Man: No Way Homecoming on 17th December 2021.

However, unlike Black Widow, Disney has confirmed that Shang-Chi will not be available on Disney+ Premier Access and be released exclusively in cinemas.
