Happy endings is a show full of drama; it’s always been that way. The first three seasons had their fair share of twists and turns. But now, the fourth season will be airing in just a few weeks! What is Happy Endings Season Four about?

The fourth season of the comedy-drama television show “Happy Endings” released on March 19, 2017. The first three seasons aired from 2011 until 2013 and were canceled after its third season due to low viewership.

Cast inclusion:

Production for the new episodes began in 2016, with most of the original cast reprising their roles, including Eliza Coupe (Jane), Elisha Cuthbert (Alex), Zachary Knighton (Dave) Damon Wayans Jr. (Brad). Relative newcomers Casey Wilson and Adam Pally will also be joining the cast as Penny Hartz’s new love interest Valerie Davis and Max Blum’s best friend Glen Daamester, respectively.

Storyline:

The first episode of the fourth season will be an hour-long special to introduce viewers to what has happened in everyone’s life since they last saw each other. Several recurring characters from previous seasons, such as Penny Hartz (Casey Wilson), Brad Garret (Damon Wayans Jr.), Jane, Alex, and Dave, have all moved on with their lives. The new episodes are set around two years after Season Three ended.

What do we know about this season?

We know that there is going to be a four year time jump and that most of our favorite couples are getting divorced or breaking up for good reasons: Dave and Alex finally got together but realized it was too much like being married at a young age; Max lost his job, and Penny lost her house; Jane married a man she didn’t love but then had to deal with him cheating on her.

We also know that new characters are being introduced this season:

Brad Garret’s (Damon Wayans Jr.) wife is played by the amazing actress Regina Hall! She has been described as “great” and will be joining Season Four after making an appearance in Season Three.

How many episodes will be there?

There will be two episodes per week during the first six weeks of the third season, which goes up against The Handmaids Tale, coming out at around the same time. Not sure how they’re going to do it yet, but we’ll keep you posted! In addition, there may or may not be some guest stars from other a reunion show that’s still being discussed.

The first look at the show’s fourth season came from a photo on creator Dave Hemingson’s Instagram that showed him in an editing bay. In the caption, he wrote, “And here we go again! Season four is underway, and it feels good to be back. So fun celebrating with all these great people tonight.”

Hemingson also confirmed that Adam Pally would guest star as Max’s son who has come to live with his father after leaving home following an argument about a proposed family vacation. We can also expect more of Penny trying on wedding dresses for her upcoming marriage to Zack (Steve Little), Jane continuing her search for love but might find it in unexpected places…we can’t wait!!!

Rating details:

The show has had a steady progression of ratings over the past few seasons. The third season, which aired in 2017 on Prime Video, averaged at 0.28 million viewers per episode and earned an 89% audience score, according to Rotten Tomatoes
