With the positive response it attracted, it is natural for the audience to anticipate a second season. The positive thing is that the fans are in luck. On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Netflix announced that season two is online. Nevertheless, as with most television series and films worldwide, it could be a while before season 2 hits the big screens. The coronavirus pandemic has stalled production across, meaning there will be lag.
The second season of Summertime, the Italian Netflix original series produced by Cattleya – part of ITV Studios -, will debut on June 3rd in all countries where the service is available.

This time, we will have the double pleasure of seeing some new characters and actors. Among them is still Mattia De Luca (played by Marco Mete), who will be accompanied in this season by Sandra Magnatta (Cristina Bucci), a mother fighting for her son’s custody after being accused of murdering his father; Francesco D’Elisa (Riccardo Scamarcio) playing Roberto, an ex-salesman working as an estate agent to avoid jail when he was caught in fraudulent activities with clients’ money. River Phoenix played Axel Taylor – Summertime Season One protagonist – but has passed away since then so they recast him with Lenny Von Dohlen.
Summertime Season Two Plot :
The story this time; will be set in the 1980s and Summer will restart; her work as a private detective. Alongside Axel (who has been recast), to find out who killed Roberto’s wife. The show’s season premiere; starts with Summer travelling to New York City, interviewing Roberto about his life after he received an invitation; from someone claiming they knew something about his wife.
It turns out; nothing is what it seems at first glance; when she meets Francesco D’Elisa; played by Riccardo Scamarcio; who works as an estate agent; instead of being convicted; for fraud, which landed him behind bars before. He claims; that he knows only too well how Roberto; feels because he was once in love with a woman; who he himself framed; for his own crimes. Summer and Axel; are eager to find out more about this mysterious man, but they have no idea that Francesco is going to lead them on an adventure like none before seen.
