BoJack Horseman tells the story of a washed-up sitcom star from the 1990s who also happens to be a horse. He used to be on TV but now spends his days drinking alone in Hollywood or driving aimlessly around town talking to people (usually other celebrities), only sometimes being helpful along the way as an unlicensed private detective who solves mysteries that are so weird they can’t get anyone else interested–or even cared about solving them at all. His life has spiralled out of control since getting famous, and there seems no hope for him ever redeeming himself despite occasional flashes of humanity when it comes to helping others out once in a while.

BoJack gets a starring role in the new Philbert show, but he becomes convinced that it’s just another terrible sitcom.
