The Expanse season 6 is finally coming out! The release date for the show has been announced, and it’s not that far away. The story details are also starting to come in. We have compiled a list of some quick stats we know about the show so you can make sure you’re ready for this new season.

Season 6:

The story follows James Holden (Steven Strait), a native of Montana who grew up in the Belt; Naomi Nagata (Dominique Tipper); Alex Kamal (Cas Anvar), Amos Burton (Wes Chatham); Roberta “Bobbie” Draper (Frankie Adams). After five seasons, it is still unclear; what caused an event; that had been called “The Scouring” to destroy Earth; hundreds of years ago. The series also explores how humans; have colonized areas; beyond earth through political conflicts between Earth-born UN politicians and Earthers living in the outer planets.

This season picks up after last year’s cliffhanger, and everyone from Earth (Avasarala), Mars (Bobbie Draper), and The Belt (Miller) have their own personal battles to fight for their respective homes to survive – but they may not win them alone. Prax Meng is looking for his missing daughter, while Naomi Nagata tries to reckon with her murderous past; both are threatened by forces that might end everything thought of as “human.” Meanwhile, James Holden has given himself over completely to the protomolecule transformation process he undertook during the series finale of The Expanse Season five.

This season will be based on the third instalment of The Expanse book series Abaddon’s Gate by James S.A. Corey.

The Expanse Season 6 Release Date Information:

There is no official premiere date set for The Expanse Season 6, but December 2021 is a reasonably safe bet. At Syfy, The Expanse’s release schedule lacked consistency, but it’s a different story at Amazon. Season 4 of the series premiered in December 2019, and season 5 in December 2020 after completion of filming in the first few months of the year. One would assume season 6 will film imminently ahead of a December 2021 release. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works. With lockdowns and restrictions still in place across the globe, production could take longer than usual.

Will Season 6 be the final season of the series?

We don’t know for sure yet. The series has gone on a long hiatus between seasons, and showrunner Naren Shankar has said they are trying to find the best time to end it when there’s still more story to tell. They’re not in any rush, though- season six could be final or just another chapter of The Expanse as we know it!

The Expanse Season 6 will be an All-Out War?

In its lead-up, The Expanse Season 5 was considered to be the show’s Infinity war in the sense that the characters were split up doing their own things while a menacing threat loomed in the background. Well, that threat — Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) is no longer in the shadows and is in full control of the Ring, and according to comments made by showrunner Naren Shankar to EW following the shocking Season 5 finale, it looks like we’re heading to full-on Endgame style war.

“The finale sets up a more aggressive form of war that is being waged against the Belt. The Martians are now taking their orders from Inaros, and they’re going to be pushing hard this season.” Shankar said.

With Earth in peril due to the effects of living on its surface, it’s not surprising for humans who can survive on Mars’ harsh environment would want what little habitable land there is left- which will lead us into a full-out battle. Between factions! So buckle up because The Expanse Season Six should continue with some pretty intense stuff!

Fan’s Reaction:

The season 5 finale was a roller coaster of emotions. It’s an incredibly endearing show, and I can’t wait for more!

Season five ended with Eros Station exploding, so there is no telling what will happen in the next season.

Fans are excited to see how Anderson Dawes’ story plays out after he faked his death at the hands of Jules Pierre Mao.
