Season 3 of Game of Thrones: Reviews, Ratings, Released Dates and Cast
We’re back again this season with all the latest updates on your favorite show, Game of Thrones! Did you miss it? We have a recap for you. The first episode was aired last night, and we are still reeling from what has been depicted so far. What is going to happen now that Jaime Lannister’s sword hand has been cut off by his father-in-law Tywin Lannister? Will Cersei be able to keep out her brothers Tyrion and Jamie, who want revenge for their brother’s death against Joffrey Baratheon? And will Daenerys Targaryen finally get back to retake the Iron Throne she lost when Robert Baratheon took over Westeros after her husband King Aerys II Targaryen was overthrown and killed?
What is Game of Thrones?
Game of Thrones is a fictional story based loosely on events that took place during The War of the Roses, which were fought between two houses – Lancaster and York – over who would rule England from 1455 to 1487. However, George RR Martin has taken some liberties with history by including dragons into his narrative so it’s not just an English war but rather one taking place across multiple continents with three major factions: House Baratheon, House Lannister, and the Targaryen family.
cast:
The cast for Game of Thrones season three includes Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister. Liam Cunningham plays Davos Seaworth; Kit Harington portrays Jon Snow, Richard Madden stars Robb Stark, while Sophie Turner plays Sansa Stark, among many others in the show.
What’s new this season?
Jon Snow is now a man of the Night’s Watch, which means he has to swear an oath never to marry or father children who will have a claim on his inheritance – but when does duty end and ambition take over? The second episode in Season Three, “Dark Wings, Dark Words,” revealed what happens when Ned Stark learns that Jon is not Robert Baratheon’s bastard son as he had thought all these years but rather Lyanna Stark’s child, so there are hints of intrigue here about how much responsibility Jon might need to shoulder for the future of Westeros. Meanwhile, Arya Stark set out with her traveling companions on their journey south from Winterfell.
About the story:
Preston has also left the North, and now King Joffrey’s sister Myrcella Baratheon is betrothed to Prince Trystane Martell of Dorne – but when does duty end and ambition take over? The third episode in Season Three, “What Is Dead May Never Die,” hinted that there might be a second Lannister wench with Tywin Lannister arranging for Lancel Lannister to escort her. In Winterfell, Bran Stark learned how his father Robb lost their war against House Frey by breaking his vow never to marry or father children who would have a claim on inheritance, so he must decide what path he will follow because Ned Stark taught him about honor above all else even if it means making difficult choices.
